Amsterdamse school candlesticks

A set of two stately candlesticks in the Amsterdam School style from the 1930s, both stamped.

The official 'double factory marks' on the candlesticks—from the Zilverfabriek Voorschoten and the Metaalwarenfabriek Ter Molen (MTM)—indicate authorization to produce these specific designs and to apply the full set of hallmarks associated with this prestigious design series.

A rare set of two survivors dating from the late 1930s. The white paint is not original, the set was painted over time. Highly decorative, though they show some signs of outdoor use.

Koos van der Sloot VE14 05 plywood 3D sculpture

Koos van der Sloot (1953–2018). Transitioning from urban planner to an artist dedicated to the theme of eggs, he created a series of 3D works featuring circular cutouts that—under standard daylight—cast a shadow in the shape of an egg. The piece is documented and described in the accompanying book in which it appears.

Iron bench Car Katwijk

This early metal garden bench is by the Dutch brand CAR Katwijk; the factory was founded in 1946 by C.A. Ruigrok. Over time, the brand became known for collaborations with influential Dutch designers of the era, such as Kho Liang Ie, Wim Crouwel, and Jan Ruigrok. This early bench predates that period.

Eastern game table

This 1930s games table was originally brought over from Asia, yet it reflects Western design influences—specifically those of the Amsterdam School and Art Deco styles. The table bears wonderful signs of use that make it visually very appealing; it features a drawer on each side and the characteristic compartments built into the legs.

Natural SE42 chair by Egon Eiermann, Wilde und Spieth 1950s

A very early SE 42 chair (early 1950s) showing fantastic signs of use, yet still very sturdy and functional.
Notably, in 1948, Eiermann created a collection of chairs combining bentwood with tubular steel for Wilde & Spieth—a company that, until then, had focused exclusively on manufacturing shutters. The three-legged SE 42 chair (1949) emerged from this fruitful collaboration.
